Family Spirit
For us, producing wine is much more than an economic activity. It is a way to give continuity and honor to the work of our parents who, way back in 1976, decided to plant the first Vineyard here in Oliena, in the locality of Orbuddai. >Cannonau, as well as to continue the tradition of our territory which sees wine as one of its greatest cultural expressions with the Nepente di Oliena which is the most renowned and appreciated wine.
Since then we have been carrying forward this project with passion and a spirit of belonging.
“…You don’t know Nepenthes of Oliena even by reputation? Alas! I am sure that, if you took a sip, you would never want to leave the shadow of the white cliffs again…”
Gabriele D’Annunzio
Between tradition
and the desire to dare
In the chosen land of Cannonau we cannot help but give due honor to this vine by producing wines that represent it and embody the winemaking tradition of our lands. Alongside the classic territorial interpretation of Cannonau, the Nepente of Oliena, we combine a line of more contemporary and modern wines.

Contemporary Line
In the
shadow of snow-white peaks
Divided between a unique and unspoiled environment and a winemaking tradition that has its roots over the centuries.
Our winery is situated in a unique and impressive natural setting at the feet of mountain Corrasi , a dolomite limestone massive, symbol of Oliena and highest peak of the Supramonte, a few kilometers away- in linear distance- from the Gulf of Orosei and its crystal blue sea on the eastern coast of Sardinia.
Amongst holm oaks and junipers, covered with Mediterranean scrub and medicinal herbs , the Supramonte of Oliena has been defined as an actual botanic garden where about 650 species have been identified so far and where it is still possible to meet the golden eagle, the goshawk and the peregrine falcon.
In this charming landscape we grow our vines -the oldest ones were planted more than 40 years ago, covering a total of 30 hectares.
Decomposed granite soils with limestone components confer wines great minerality and freshness, a sunny and cool weather with temperature swings from daytime warmth provide the ideal conditions for the concentration of terpenes in the grapes, anticipating the aromas found in the glass and giving our grapes unique characteristics.
The growing system applied to oldest vines follows the traditional sapling method with very low yields that concentrate in the berries all the strength and the perfumes of this land.
WHERE THE CANNONAU HAS A NAME OF ITS OWN
The Nepente
In Oliena the Cannonau is known and appreciated by the name of Nepente. The story behind this name is as singular as it is fascinating: it was either an intuition of Gabriele d'Annunzio, the supreme poet, who, finding himself in Oliena in 1882 and having tasted the wine that had been offered to him, fell in love with it so much that he renamed it with the name of Nepenthes (from the Greek “ne” = not and “penthos” = sadness, no sadness), thus paying homage to the drink that Helen of Troy used to give to her husband Menelaus, king of Sparta, to resolve his sadness.
The tastes

Our history is linked to its territory and its traditions. In addition to wine, our company has been producing excellent artisan cured meats for decades with unique and exclusive recipes. From the selection of the best meats to the seasoning processes, everything happens according to methods and procedures handed down in our family.
